Keywords offer an additional method for classifying and retrieving information elements. The Keyword Index mode lists all keywords assigned to any item and can be used to retrieve a list of all items with any keyword assigned. KnowledgeWorkshop will automatically extract any keywords from the author's predefined metadata Information about a piece of data. This could include, for example, the author, a description, categories and the file type. and add them to the index if keywords have not already been manually assigned. This metadata is created by the page author and not normally visible within the browser. Automatically extracted keywords can be modified in the Items properties pages. User defined keywords can be added to the list for any item except Outlook contacts.
