To attach an email message to a point in your tree either:
Drag the message(s) out of Outlook to a point in the tree to create a copy of it. To expand a collapsed branch hover over it.
Copy the message(s) in Outlook, select the insertion point in the tree and Paste.
Select the message(s) in Outlook, open the Outlook Tools menu and select the [KW] button.
select either-
Add reference to KW. This will create a pointer to the email within Outlook and open the message inside Outlook when you activate it in KW
Add content to KW. This will export all of the information within the email to KW. The message will open in KnowledgeWorkshop when it is activated. Note: You can apply highlights to the email if this method is used.
A popup may appear in Outlook depending on your security settings stating " A program is trying to access information you have stored in Outlook. Do you want to allow this? If this is unexpected, it may be a virus and you should choose No"
Check the box to allow access for one or more minutes
Click the "Yes" button.
A popup will appear in Outlook indicating that the item(s) are queued in KnowledgeWorkshop and another popup will appear within a couple of minutes in KnowledgeWorkshop if the import has been successful. The messages will appear as a new item(s) within the Unfiled Items folder of your tree from where you can drag it to an appropriate location.
Double click on the email to display it. If the mail item was created as a reference (see above) Outlook will start and display the message. If the mail item was created as content in KnowledgeWorkshop the message will open within the KW browser.
To respond to or forward an email it must be opened in Outlook. If necessary, right click on the message and select Open In - External Application. This will force the message to open in Outlook even if it were created as copied content.
