Is a MAC version of KnowledgeWorkshop
available?
Learning
Management Solutions does not currently
have a MAC version of KnowledgeWorkshop
available but expects to develop one in
the future.
I
use Netscape as my Internet Browser and am having
problems getting KnowledgeWorkshop to work.
KnowledgeWorkshop
needs Microsoft Internet Explorer to be
installed in order to function properly.
It does not need to be your default browser
- you can have Netscape and Internet Explorer
installed on the same computer.
I
use KnowledgeWorkshop on a computer I share
with other users. Can these other users see
my data?
Each
user that logs onto the computer with
a unique username is prompted to create
a personal database and indicate where
it should be stored. As long as you choose
a location for the database that is within
your user profile area (MyDocuments for
example) other users will not see your
data. If you choose to store the database
in a shared file area such as a folder
on the hard drive then other users will
be able to see your data.
I
use more than one computer at work. Is there
a way I can see my KnowledgeWorkshop data
on each machine.
Have
your network administrator map a drive
in your login script to server storage
space allocated to you. When KnowledgeWorkshop
is installed set this drive letter as
the location where your database is stored.
You will then be able to access your information
at each of the computers you use.
I
use a computer at home and one at work. Is
there a way for me to access my KnowledgeWorkshop
database on both machines?
The
easiest way to do this is to store your
database on media that is accessible from
both locations. This could be a network
or Internet storage location or on portable
media such as as read and writable compact
disk (CDRW), a zip drive, or a USB drive.
A floppy drive is too small to be practical
for this use. If these techniques are
not available you can use the export and
import features to transfer information
between your computers.
